Three Stirling teams in Lossie last four

The first day of the Scottish student team match-play championship at Moray Golf Club, Lossiemouth saw teams from Scotland's premier golfing university, Stirling, dominate the rest of the field to secure three of the four semi-final places.
In the closest of the matches, Stirling III shocked former finalists Highlands and Islands, by taking a 3-1 lead after the morning foursomes.
The eight afternoon singles swung back and fore but ultimately the half-point gained by Stirling III's Martin McKenna against UHI captain Sebastiano Galepini was good enough to secure a 6.5-5.5 win.
Stirling first and second teams had an easier run of it: the seconds whitewashing Abertay Dundee 12-0; while the firsts (led by joint individual champions Mathias Eggenberger and Henry Tomlinson - who were five under par for their foursomes match) managed an 11.5-0.5 victory against Edinburgh Napier.
In the final match, the traditionally hard fought west of Scotland battle between Glasgow and Strathclyde turned out a damp squib as the academic youngsters of Strathclyde triumphed over their ancient adversaries by an impressive 10-2 margin.
In Thursday's semi-finals it will be Stirling 1 v Stirling III and Strathclyde v Stirling II.

QUARTER-FINALS
Strathclyde 10, Glasgow 2.
