Parisienne Perrine Delacour, winner of the British girls' open title in 2009, arded her third straight round in the 60s at the LPGA's Kingsmill Championship, taking a one-shot lead at the River Course at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virgina
Delacour (21) finished with three birdies over her final five holes en route to a 4-under 67. Delacour heads into Sunday's final round in the lead as she looks for her first LPGA title in two years on the tour. Delacour said she came into the week with more confidence in her short game.
"The last few events I got a bad chipping, so I work a lot last week on my chipping and I got more confidence," said Delacour. "So if I miss the green, I got more confidence, and I know I can make an up-and-down easier than last week."
Alison Lee, the LPGA rookie who held the 36-hole lead, is one shot behind Delacour at 10 under after a third-round 70. Lee played the first 11 holes in 4 under, but lost ground after making a bogey at 16 and following that with a double bogey at the par-3 17th. Lee was left with a sour taste in her mouth after making the double bogey at 17 on a four-putt, but hopes to rebound in the final round for her first LPGA victory.
"Stuff like that just happens," said Lee. "If I dwell on it too much it won't be good mentally and emotionally going into tomorrow. Just trying to brush it off and move on."
Paula Creamer, So Yeon Ryu and Minjee Lee are two shots back at 9 under, while Lexi Thompson is in sixth at 8 under.
BRITWATCH. Catriona Matthew dropped back with a 73 for 210 after 54 holes. Charley Hull is not having the best of tournaments, by her standards. She has reeled off three rounds of par 71 for 213
Yorkshire's Jodi Ewart Shadoff missed the cut by two shots with scores of 72 and 74.
