NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana. - The University of Louisiana Monroe men’s golf team capped a stellar season that saw the Warhawks win a title at the Wallace Jones Invitational, finish second at the Cardinal Intercollegiate and place third at the Sun Belt Championship by landing three players on the Sun Belt All-Conference awards list.

Calum Hill, pictured right, a second-year student from North Berwick, earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team, while Greg Smail, a third-year man from Musselburgh  achieved an "Honourable Mention" from the selectors..
“I’m very proud of these guys for their success this season and glad that the other coaches in the Sun Belt recognised it and honoured them,” said ULM head golf coach Walt Williams said.
Highlighted by an individual title at the Wallace Jones Invitational, Hill landed his name on the list for the first time in his US college career. Hill paced the Warhawks with an average score of 72.41, just above par of 72 on most courses played this season.
“Calum had a special sophomore year that included five top-10 finishes and an 11-under par win at the Wallace Jones Intercollegiate,” Williams added.
In 12 tournaments, Hill placed inside the top-five of the individual leaderboard three times. Most impressive is the fact that Hill registered 20 rounds at par or under, despite only playing 34 rounds on the season.

Smail, pictured left,  concluded an outstanding junior campaign by shooting an even-par 213 to place fifth at the Sun Belt Championship.
“Greg had an excellent junior year, posting his first career win at the Louisville Cardinal Invite with a 5-under par total,” Williams added. “He finished the season with a fifth place finish at conference and a 73.6 scoring average for the year.
The Musselburgh native registered three top-five finishes, including that individual title he won and a second place result at conference rivals Arkansas-Little Rock's  event. Smail set a new career low in the first round of the season, carding a 66, five strokes under par at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate.
