Eight from World Top 20 enter Ladies' British 

Open Amateur Championship at Portstewart

LADIES GOLF UNION NEWS RELEASE
The 112th Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship returns to Northern Ireland in June. The links of Portstewart Golf Club will provide a testing challenge when the LGU's amateur flagship amateur event  is played from the 9th - 13th June 2015.

Portstewart is not new to LGU tournaments having successfully staged the Home International Matches and the Girls' British Open Amateur Championship in recent years.
The Championship will be played over 6262 yards of the Strand lay-out which lies on an estuary between the Atlantic Ocean and the River Bann.  Two stroke-play qualifying rounds will produce 64 competitors for the sudden-death match-play stages. The 18-hole final will be played on Saturday afternoon and spectators are welcome.
The 2014 Champion, 18-year-old Emily Pedersen from Copenhagen will not defend the title she won at Royal St Georges. Emily joined the professional ranks in January.
The Dane bt Leslie Cloots (Belgium) by 3 and 1 in last year's final at Royal St George's, bringing to an end a four-year run of "home" wins by Kelly Tidy (2010), Lauren Taylor (2011), Stephanie Meadow (2012) and Georgia Hall (2013).

Eight of the top 20 from the Women's World Amateur Rankings have entered this year - Leona Maguire (ranked No 2), Bronte Law (3), Noemi Jimenez (6), Celine Boutier (7), Madelene Sagstrom (8), Nuria Hurrios (9), Linnea Strom (19) and Olivia Cowan (20).
