Rachel Walker sweeps into final with five-under-par fireworks

Rachel Walker dominated the outward half of the first semi-final at the 101st Scottish women's amateur championship at windy Monifieth.
Elaine Moffat, Scottish champion in 1998 and beaten semi-finalist in 2009,  managed to halve the second and fourth with birdies of her own but didn't win a hole until the 11th.
By that time Walker had gone six up with birdies at the fifth and sixth.
Moffat got it back to five by winning the 11th. The next two holes were halved, leaving Walker on the brink of a place in the final - five up with five holes to play.
Walker won  the 14th with a par to clinch her place in the final by 6 and 4.
The Dumfries and County player was five under par for the 14 holes

Clara Young overpowers Kimberley Beveridge 2 and 1

In the second semi-final, Clara Young won the fourth and fifth to take a two-hole lead and was still two up on the ninth tee after the eighth was halved in birdies.

Young won the ninth to go three up and the 10th was halved.

Young three up after 10 holes. Beveridge scored her first sucess of the semi-final by winning the 12th to reduce her deficit to two holes. The 13th and 14th were halved, leaving Young two up with four to play. 
Beveridge won the 1th with a birdie to be one down but after a half at the 16th Beveridge three putted to lose the 17th and the match by 2 and 1.

Carol Wilson wins a  ding-dong Clark Rosebowl final 

Carol Wilson won the second and third holes but lost the fourth and sixth for the Clark Rosebowl final against Lesley Atkins to be all square on the seventh tee.
Atkins won the seventh to lead for the first time and even though she had a birdie at the eighth Lesley lost the hole because Wilson chipped in for an eagle 2 to square the match.
Atkins was not to be denied and won the ninth to be one up at the turn. 
After the 10th, 11th and 12th were halved, Wilson squared the match with a par at the 13th. 
Atkins went ahead again at the 14th but Wilson squared the match at the 16th, went one up with a great approach putt from a long way away at the 17th and halved the 18th for a memorable come from behind victory .
