Thirty-nine competitors played at Ranfurly Castle today in the Renfrewshire Ladies County Golf Association Spring Meeting. The conditions were tricky as there was a stiff breeze and it was damp and showery for the early players. The greens were electric which spoiled many scores!

Only one player broke her handicap today! Jan Adams, a very keen junior from Greenock Whinhill, who has been practising hard over the winter, scored an excellent 91 less 22 for a nett 69 - 7 under the CSS of 76. A well deserved handicap cut for Jan.
Ranfurly Castle's Carol Fell was surprised that her 86 was best scratch score of the day and she also won the Division 1 handicap prize.
