Leader Kate McIntosh (pictured), beaten in the second round by leading qualifier Gillian Paton in the 101st Scottish women's amateur championship at Monifieth Links last week, had birdies at the par 5 sixth, seventh, 13th, 

par 5 14th, par 5 15th and par 5 17th but had bogeys at the short third, fifth, eighth and short 16th in her two-under-par 71 in the first round of the 36-hole Munross Trophy tournament at Montrose
