Top four Angus seeds qualify for semi-finals
The four top seeds all won their way through today (Sunday) to next Sunday morning's semi-finals of the Angus women's county championship at Forfar.
Top qualifier Jacqueline Sneddon (Alyth) will play No 4 Frances Millar (Carnoustie Ladies) in the first semi-final at 9am.
The second semi-final at 9.08 will feature No 2 seed Gillian (Monteith) Paton against Claire MacDonald (Ladies Panmure Barry).
MacDonald figured in the closest match of the day. She went through at the 19th, where she put her approach to within a foot of the flagstick, against three times beaten finalist Kathleen Sutherland (Royal Montrose).
The final will tee off at 1.30pm next Sunday, followed by the handicap final
Through to the handicap semi-finals are Jodie Taylor (Downfield) (30) and Deborah Mitchell (Carnoustie) (18) in the first tie at 9.16 followed by Joan Hulse (Montrose Mercantile) (24) v Lis Husband (Forfar) (24) at 9.22.
