Ricoh Women’s British Open and Curtis Cup to be
shown by NBC Sports Group starting in 2017

IMG NEWS RELEASE
The Ladies' Golf Union and IMG today announced that the Ricoh Women’s British Open and the Curtis Cup, when it is played in Great Britain and Ireland, will be televised by NBC Sports Group in the United States from 2017 – 2028.
NBC Sports Group will deliver extensive coverage across its television and digital channels when the Ricoh Women’s British Open is played at Kingsbarns Golf Links, just south of  St Andrews, for the first time in August 2017.
Chairman of the Ladies' Golf Union, Trish Wilson, said, "This is fantastic news for the Ricoh Women’s British Open and the Curtis Cup and for women’s golf generally. To have the full weight and breadth of the NBC Sports Group behind these two international events will be of tremendous benefit to their future growth."
Mark Lazarus, Chairman of NBC Sports Group said, “As these events’ new home in the U.S., NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the Ricoh Women’s British Open and Curtis Cup will further raise the profile of these world-class events.”
“Adding broadcast coverage of the Women’s British Open will contribute to the momentum the LPGA Tour and Golf Channel have generated in the United States, as the women’s game continues to grow stronger.”
The Ricoh Women’s British Open is one of two Women’s Major Championships staged outside the United States and  boasts many of the finest players in golf’s history among its champions. The 2017 edition, hosted at Kingsbarn Golf Links, will be the 41st playing of the championship.

The Curtis Cup has been played at some of golf’s most iconic venues including St Andrews, Royal County Down, Royal St George’s, Muirfield, Royal Birkdale, Royal Liverpool and Royal Lytham and St Annes. The venue for the 2020 Curtis Cup, the first that will be shown under this new agreement, is still to be selected.
