Taylor shines but Scots women not in contention

Despite very good rounds of 70 and 69 by Rachael Taylor, Scotland failed by at least 10 shots to make the top eight qualifiers for the match-play stages of the European women's amateur team championship at Helsinger Golf Club, Denmark.
Taylor's individual total of five-under-par 139 was better than that achieved by the World No 1, Ireland's Leona Maguire, who had a 143 aggregate.
England (710), Spain (715) and France (716) claimed the top three places.
Ireland made it into the top flight in eighth place with a total of 738 the same as Netherlands who had the poorer second-round total and lost out on the countback.
Scotland's two-round total of 748, 10 strokes more than the eighth placed team. They finished 13th in the standings.
