Scottish Under-21 girls' open amateur stroke play championship
Cloe from Kent leads by seven shots at
Drumpellier with one round to go
Cloe Frankish (Chart Hills GC, Kent) is following in compatriot India Clyburn's footsteps as a runaway winner of the Scottish Under-21 girls' open amateur stroke-play championship.
Last year, India shot a final-round 65 and won the title by 12 strokes.
This week, 16-year-old Cloe, a reserve for the GB and I Junior Vagliano Trophy team, has dominated the field at Drumpellier to the extent that, with one round to go, she leads by seven strokes after rounds of 69 and 72 over the paa sr-73 course for a five-under tally of 141.
Frankish, a star in the making, had birdies at the fifth, eighth, 15th and 17th, dropping shots at the eighth, 11th and 16th.
Heather Munro (Monifieth) and Tara Mactaggart (Minto) are her nearest challengers on 148.
Heather covered her last 12 holes in four under par with birdies at the seventh, ninth, 14th and 15th.She camhe home in 33 for her 71.
MacTaggart, who has had a pair of 74s, would have been second on her own but for late bogeys at the 16th and 18th after birdies at the 14th and 15th.
This is the last time the Scottish Under-21 girls' open strokeplay will be played. The SLGA are taking it off their calendar of events with effect from 2015.
