Ailsa top Scot behind impressive Indian
winner of British open amateur strokeplay
Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies) finished as the leading Scot in a share of 21st place behind the impressive winner of the British women's open amateur stroke-play championship, 17-year-old Aditi Ashok from Bangalore, India.
Over four rounds at the Yorkshire moorland venue of Moortown Golf Club, Ashok showed the class that won her the St Rule Trophy over the St Andrews' New and Old Courses earlier this summer and also gained her a silver medal in the European women's individual amateur championship at Murhof, Austria.
She shot an 11-under-par aggregate of 285 with scores of 71, 73, 70 and 71 over a par-74 course to win by four shots from Sweden's Linn Andersson.
Summers had scores of 81, 74,75 and 75 for 304.
Chloe Goadby (St Regulus) finished joint 28th on 310 (75-75-76-84)
The only other Scot to beat the halfway cut, Jennifer Saxton (Muckhart) had scores of 76, 78, 80 and 85 for 319 and 38th place.

Jessica Ross wins Taunton Trophy for lowest score of the tournament - a 68 in final round
Ireland's Jessica Ross won the TauntonTrophy for the lowest single round of the tournament - she shot a six-under-par 68 in the final round and was the only player to break 70 over the three days.
