England lead Ireland by one point after 

foursomes in title decider


England gained a possibly vital 1pt lead from the morning foursomes against Ireland in the title decider.
The defending champions lead 2-1 going into the afternoon's six singles which will decide who wins the Stroyan Cup.
Ireland have never won it, England are bidding for an eighth triumph in a row.
Emma Allen, pictured above,  from Meon Valley chalked up her fifth win in five ties by partnering Elizabeth Prior to a 4 and 3 success over Ciara Casey and Lisa O'Shea in the first tie to finish.

The England pair were one over par for the holes played, having birdied the third, sixth, seventh and ninth to tbe four up at the turn.
Casey and O'Shea won the 11th and 14th but Allen and Prior won the 12th and 15th to hold off the challenge and win on the 15th green.
 Ireland levelled it at 1-1 with an impressive 6 and 4 victory by their Junior Vagliano Trophy pair, Annabel Wilson and Mairead Martin over Eloise Healey and Emily Toy.
Wilson and Martin birdied the first, second, fourth and eighth to be four up at the turn. They also birdied the 13th to extend their lead to five holes. 
The Irish pair were a brilliant four or five under par for the holes played. They lost only one hole.
But England regained the lead at 2-1 when Hollie Muse and Sammy Fuller scored a 2 and 1 victory over Olivia Mehaffey and Julie McCarthy.

Muse and Fuller won the first, the third (with a birdie) and the sixth to establish an early three-hole lead. The England pair bogeyd the 10th and 11th to lose both hles and see their lead reduced to one hole.
But they won the  12th and 14th to regain a three-hole advantage 
In a quality finish, the 15th and 17th holes were halved in birdies as Muse and Fuller won by 2 and 1 

Wales took a 2-1 lead over Scotland in the match which will decide who finishes third and fourth in the final table.
Scotland were well place to lead 2-1 at lunchtime but Wales finished the stronger.
The Troon Ladies partnership of Hazel MacGarvie and Emma Hale put the first point on the board for the Scots by beating Bethan Morris and Lucy Jones 6 and 5 with one-under-par figures.
MacGarvie and Halew birdied the fourth and fifth to go three up and took the seventh and 10th with pars to extend their lead to four holes.
The in-form Scots birdied the 13th to finish the match. 
Wales levelled it at 1-1 with a 2 and 1 victory  by Olivia Kelly and Nicola Wainwright over the top Scotland foursomes pairing of Shannon McWilliam and Chloe Goadby.
The Welsh pair had the better of the outward half going two up over the first eight holes.
McWilliam and Goadby birdied the ninth to be one down at the turn but Kelly and Wainwright won the 11th and 14th with par figures, lost the 16th with a bogey 5 but halved the 17th for a 2 and 1 victory with three-over-par figures.
Scotland's Claire Robertson and Jillian Farrell looked well on their way to victory over Jordan Ryan and Ella Griffiths when they won the fifth, sixth, eigthth and ninth to be four up.
But that was as good as it got for the Scots.
The Welsh pair came storming into the picture after the turn with wins at the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th (with a double bogey 6!) and the 15th to turn around their fortunes dramatically into a two-hole lead. Halves at the 16th and 17th clinched a 2 and 1 victory for Ryan and Griffiths.
