FIRST DAY OF VETERAN LADIES' JAMBOREE

Scots fight back in singles but cannot

overcome 0-3 loss in morning foursomes

Scotland made a disappointing start to the Veteran Ladies Jamboree at Sherwood Forest Golf Club today.
The Scots lost all three foursomes to their South of England opponents
It was a different story in the afternoon singles when the Scots gave almost as good as they got.
There were wins by Sheena Wood (Aberdeen Ladies) and Alison Bartlett (Royal Dornoch) and Lesley Lloyd (Hayston) gained a square match.
So South's strong side, potential winners of the four-cornered tournament, shaded the singles 3.5 to 2.5 and won the match 6.5-2.5 overall.
The other match on the opening day saw North of England beat England Midlands 5-4.
