Sandra v Marta in final after they beat World
ranked Nos 3 and 43 in semi-finals
This afternoon's 18-hole final of the Girls' British open amateur championship at an overcast West Kilbride Golf Club will be contested by Sandra Nordaas (Norway) and Spain's Marta Perez Sanmartin.
So that meant the World No 3, Maria Parran from Sotogrande, and the World No 43, Ana Pelaez, also from Spain lost out in the semi-finals to two players well below them in the rankings.
Oslo-based Nordaas, ranked No 522 and bidding to become the first Norwegian to win the British title since Marianne Skarpnoord in 2003, won at the 19th against Parra while Marta Perez Sanmartin, from Malaga and ranked No. 218, beat Pelaez by 2 and 1

Maria (pictured on first tee) won the first two holes with a birdie from 12ft at the first and a par 4 at the second.
The third hole was halved in birdie 4s.
Nordaas got a hole back at the fourth which Parra bogeyed and the Norwegian squared the contest at the fifth which was Parra's second bogey in a row.
The sixth, seventh, eighth and nine holes were halved in par so that the match was all square at the turn with both players roughly par for the first nine holes.
The first three holes of the inward half were halved in par figures with neither player able to gain the initiative.
The long 13th was halved in birdie 4s. Eight holes in row have been halved.
Sandra Nordaas from Oslo, pictured right, took a one-hole lead for the first time in the match against the World-ranked No 3 female amateur when she holed a 5ft birdie putt at the 14th. The 15th was halved in par 4s.
Sandra put herself on the verge of her best ever victory when she birdied the par-4 16th to go two up on the World No 3. It was her third birdie in four holes.
But Parra was not ready to admit defeat. She won the par-5 17th with an eagle to keep her hopes alive at one down on the 18th tee.
Parra kept up her revial by holing a 35ft birdie putt to square the match on the last green.
But it wasn't the last, of course. Off they went down the 19th ................................

Ana Pelaez, pictured left with her first drive, went one up at the first with a par 4 but Perez holed a 9ft birdie putt for a 3 to square it at the second.
The third hole was halved in birdies 4s. Pelaez got back to back birdies with a 2 at the short fourth from 6ft to regain a one-hole advantage.
After a half in par 4s at the fifth, Pelaez went two up with a par 4 at the sixth
But Perez Sanmartin came back strongly to win three holes in a row - the sixth, which her opponent bogeyed, the seventh with her third birdie, and the eighth where Pelaez had her second bogey in three holes.

The 10th hole was halved in par 4s. Then Pelaez got her third birdie of the match but her first since the fourth - a 3 at the 11th - to square the match once again.
Pelaez slipped to her third bogey in the last six holes, a 4 at the short 12th, where Perez Sanmartin went back into a one-hole lead
The 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th holes were halved in par 4s.
Perez Sanmartin only to play two shots to win the 17th and the match by 2 and 1.
She got home in two - 10ft from the pin - at the par-5 hole while Pelaez played a provisional off the tee after a wayward drive and eventually conceded before she got as far as the green.
Perez Sanmartin was roughly one under par for the holes played.
