ONLY THREE SCOTS BEAT THE CUT

IN "BRITISH" AT MOORTOWN

Only three Scots, St Andrews' Chloe Goadby (St Regulus), Jennifer Saxton (Muckhart) and Carnoustie's Ailsa Summer survived the halfway cut to the leading 40 players and ties in the British women's open amateur stroke-play championship at Moortown Golf Club, Leeds.

Goadby, pictured, is in joint 15th position after a pair of 75s, having covered her last eight holes in two under par.

Saxton, jt 32nd, has had rounds of 76 and 78 for 154 while Summers (81-74)  birdied the 11th, 13th and 16th to qualify for Friday's last two rounds with nothing to spare in joint 38th place on the 155 mark

Tara Mactaggart (Minto) missed out by two shots with 75-82 for 157, the same total as Gemma Batty (Powfoot) (76-81)

Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) scored 77 and 81 for 158.

Gabrielle MacDonald (Craigielaw) shot 79-82 for 161, two ahead of Nicola Callander (Mill Green) 76-87.

Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) finished on 165 with rounds of 85 and 80.

Hannah Scott (Broormieknowe), 80-87, and Iona Stephen (Wentworth) 86-81, both finished on 167.

Aditi Ashok, the 17-year-old from Bangalore, India, wnner of the St Rule Trophy at St Andrews earlier in the summer, leads the field on 144 with rounds of 71 and 73.

She has a one-stroke advantage over Abi Laker (Frilford Heath) 72-73 and Bethan Popel (Long Ashton), 73-72, who finished third in the St Rule Trophy.
