Scots trail 1-2 to Ireland, England finish
strongly for 2-1 edge over Wales

England and Ireland, last year's champions and runners-up respectively, led, as expected, after the morning foursomes on the opening day of the 2015 Girls' Home International Matches at Lanark Golf Club, Scotland.
What was not anticipated so much was the closeness of the ties as England took a 2-1 lead over Wales while Ireland established a similar lead to carry over into the afternoon's six singles.
Junior Vagliano Trophy player Shannon McWilliam and Chloe Goadby put the first point on the board for Scotland by beating Julie McCarthy and Ciara Casey 3 and 2.
The Scots were roughly two over par for the holes played and were never behind after winning the fourth, fifth and six holes for a three-hole lead. McCarthy and Casey cut their deficit to two holes several times but could never get it back to one.
The Irish Junior Vagliano Trophy pairing of Annabel Wilson and Mairead Martin squared it overall by beating Hazel MacGarvie, also a Junior Vagliano Trophy player, and Molly Richmond 5 and 4 with par golf - no birdies, no bogeys.
Wilson and Martin were three up after eight holes and clinched victory by winning the 12th and 13th.
So the lunchtime lead now depeinded on the outcome of the second foursome between Ireland's GB and I international Olivia Mehaffey and Niamh McSherry, and Scotland's Emma Hale and Claire Robertson.
The Scots did well to be square after seven holes and after losing the eighth, ninth and 10th they hit back with gains at the 12th and 13th to be only one down.
But Mehaffey and McSherry chalked up their third birdie of the round, at the 15th, to go two up and halves at the next two holes gave them a hard-earned 2 and 1 victory and a 2-1 lunchtime lead for Ireland
The England-Wales foursomes could hardly have been closer. With just a handful of holes to play, the three ties were all square.
Wales then led 1-0 against the title favourites with a two-hole success for Olivia Kelly and Lucy Jones over Junior Vagliano Trophy player Alice Hewson and Annabel Bailey.
Kelly and Jones were two up after eight but the England pair birdied the 12th, 14th and 15th to take a one-hole lead for the first time since the second and third holes.
Kelly and Jones staged a grandstand finish by winning the 16th, 17th and 18th for victory with overall one-under-par figures. A great performance.
England's Emma Allan and Elizabeth Prior levelled it a 1-1 by beating Jordan Ryan and Ella Griffiths by 3 and 1.
Allan and Prior were two up after five but all square after seven.
Ryan and Griffiths edged one up through the eighth and ninth.
Allan and Prior fought back to get on level terms and the match as all square through the `12th,13th and 14th
Allan and Prior then birdied the 15th and 16th to go dormie two and they scored a notable 3 and 1 win with a 3 at the 18th.
Junior Vagliano Trophy players Hollie Muse and Sammy Fuller gave England a 2-1 lunchtime lead by scoring a one-hole win over Bethan Morris and Angharad Evans in a dramatic finish to the morning's play.
The English pair, two up for most of the match, were pulled back to square at the 14th. Then Morris and Evans edged ahead fo the first time when they were conceded the 15th.
A birdie at 16th put Muse and Fuller back on terms. The 17th was halved and then the England pair won the 18th with a par 3 for a one-hole victory.
