St Andrews Junior Ladies' Open

Three Scots through to last eight

Three Scots are through to the round of the last eight in the scratch section of the St Andrews Junior Ladies Open
First-round match-play ties were played over the Eden Course today and Scottish winners were Kirsten Brown, the No 2 seed from Strathaven, Alison Brown, the sixth qualifier from the Emirates, and US college student Hannah Robb, the 10th qualifier, a member of Scotscraig Golf Club.
Brown was a 4 and 2 winner over compatriot Leanne Wilson, the 15th qualifier from Kelso.
Muirhead won at the 19th in a nail-biting finish against Norway's Julie Nordin.
Robb was a twho-hole winner over the seven seed from the Worcstershire Golf Club, Lucy Walton.
Nicola Robertson (Stirling), another who will be returning to college in the States in a week or two, lost by 3 and 2 t the third seed, Jessica Bailey from Kirby Muxloe.
West Kilbride's Louise Duncan, the No 9 qualifier lost by 4 and 3 to the No 8, Samantha Taylor (Tynemouth).
Mirren Fraser, last of the 16 match-play qualifiers, from Powfoot, lost by 6 and 5 to the top seed from Australia, Yu Eun Eunice Kim.
