TURNER and  MURRAY BEST OF SCOTS 

IN FINLAND

Jane Turner (West Linton) and Alford's Laura Murray (Paul Lawrie Gofl Centre) were the leading Scots at the end of the first round of the LETAS event at Vihti, Finland, the HLR Golf Academy Open.
Turner shot a one-over-par 72 for a share of 12th place. She was in the top 10 until bogeying the 16th and 18th.
Murray also stumbled over the tough finishing holes. She bogeyed the 14th and 18th for a 74 and joint 36th place.
Aberdeen-born Gemma Dryburgh (Beaconsfield) and Ellon's Michele Thomson (Meldrum House) both hit the 75 mark to share 51st place.
Glasgow's Gemma Webster (Succession Group) had a 77 for joint 73rd position.
Finland have two players in the leading trio.
Elina Nummenpaa is setting the pace with a 68, a shot ahead of Finnish amateur Petra Salko and former Helen Holm Scottish stroke play winner, Annabel Dimmock.
