Whitecraigs pair win LGU Foursomes 

qualifier at Kemnay to earn St Andrews trip

The Whitecraigs Golf Club, Glasgow partnership of  Gillian Cruickshank (handicap 27) and Margaret Lazell (handicap 29) won today's 18-hole Stableford qualifying competition for the Peugeot LGU Coronation Foursomes at Kemnay Golf Club, Aberdeenshire.
They combined for 34pt off their foursomes handicap of 28.
Runners-up with 32pt were the Fraserburgh Golf Club duo of Margaret Attfield (9) and Isobel Taylor (25). 
Also finishing with 32pt, but losing out for second place on a counback, were the Deeside pairing of Thelma Beattie (16) and June Stewart (19).
The Grand Final, contested by the winners of the 16 area finals, will be played over the Eden Course, St Andrews on Septem
ber 21.
All the qualifiers will stay at the luxurious Old Course Hotel.
