Scottish women's county finals at Stranraer
Angus and Midlothian tee off with big wins
Title-holders Angus and Midlothian both scored big-margin wins on the first day of the Scottish women's county golf championship finals at Stranraer Golf Club.
Angus, winners of the title twice in the past three years, whipped Ayrshire 8-1 while Midlothian beat Dumfries-shire 7-2.
It is building up to a title decider between Angus and Midlothianon Sunday unless their Saturday opponents can upset that calculation.
Angus took the foursomes 3-0 against Ayrshire and then lost only one of the six afternoon singles.
Midlothian led Dumfries-shire 2-1 after the foursomes and took the singles 5-1.
