Ferguson and Forrest find their form to
improve by seven shot with a 66
Ewen Ferguson and Grant Forrest bounced back from their opening day, better-ball 73 with a six-under-par 66 on Day 2 of the The Spirit International men's competition at Whispering Pines Golf Club, Texas.
Ferguson shot an eagle (at the long 17th) and three birdies.
Forrest had four birdies in a purple patch from the 11th to the 17th inclusive.
Scots, on 139, now tied 16th of 20 pairs.
England's Scott Gregory and John Thomson are T9 on 136 after better-ball rounds of 67 and 69. Gregory had three birdies, Thomson one. They also had one counting bogey.
USA leads men's event on 126 after better-ball scores of 66 and 60.
Jess Meek and Rachael Taylor repeated Scotland's opening 69 and they are T10 on 138 in the women's competition - seven behind leaders Mexico (64-67).
Taylor had three birdies and Meek two.
England's GB and I caps Hayley Davis and Bronte Law are T7 on 137 after rounds of 70 and 67. They had a bag of six birdies on Day 2.
