FIU’s Meghan MacLaren Places Fifth in Ron Moore Intercollegiate
The FIU senior placed in the top five among 98 participants from 18 different schools during this weekend's tournament which was held at the Highland Ranch Golf Club (Par 72 – 6,326 yards).
MacLaren shot under par for the for the second time this season (seven-under, 209 at the Johnie Imes Invitational) opening play with a one-under 71 on Friday. The Cambridge, United Kingdom, product carded a two-over 74 on Day Two and rebounded with a strong two-under 70 on the final day to finish under par for the tournament.
Her weekend scores lowered her season stroke average to 71.89 as MacLaren has finished in the top five in two of the team's three tournaments this fall.
The Panthers finished 13th out of 18 teams. Following MacLaren's score, the Panthers placed Camila Serrano (227 tied for 53rd), Carla Janes (227 tied for 53rd), Sophie Godley (227 tied for 53rd) and Katerina Krasova (235 tied for 82nd).
FIU will next host the 38th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational Oct. 25-27 from the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
