Scots-born Karis wins Queensland stroke-play

Karis Davidson, 17, from Innerleithen, has won the Queensland women's stroke-play championship by two strokes over four rounds at Palm Meadows Golf Club.
Karis emigrated with her parents to Australia when she was eight years old. She now has +4 of a handicap and has a world ranking in the 80s.
She had rounds of 72, 68, 71 and 68 for a nine-under-par aggregate of 279
Runner-up on 281 was another +4 handicapper, Jiwon Jeen, with scores of 69, 67, 73 and 72.
Davidson trailed Jeen by four strokes at the halfway stage but covered the last 36 holes in 139 to her rival's 145,
Now Karis hopes to completed the State stroke play and match-play double. The match-play championship starts on Thursday.
