Sophie claims top Brit honours with T17 finish

at Flagler Fall Slam

Sophie Bargeron from London, a second-year student at Armstrong State University, finished as the leading British based player at the Flagler Fall Slam tournament at Marsh Creek Country Club, St Augustine, Florida.
Sophie, pictured, had rounds of 77 and 72 for a five-over-par total of 149 over a 6062yd course and joint 17th place in a field of 92 players  behind the winner by four shots, Guro Rambjoer (Florida Tech) who scored 68-70 for six-under 138.
King University's Nicola Robertson (77-78) from Dunblane and Elizabeth Swallow (74-81) from Berkshire tied for 39th place on 155.
Another King student, Samantha Taylor from Newcastle shot a pair of 79s for 158 and a share of 49th place. 
Scotscraig Golf Club, Fife member Hannah Robb (Embry Riddle) finished T72 on 164 with a pair of 82s.
Megan Taylor (Wingate University) from Buckden, Cambridgeshire finished T76 with 80 ajd 87 for 167.
Barry (574) won the team title ahead of Florida Tech (575) with Sain Leo (591) third.
Other placings:  607 Armstrong State (9th); 631 King (12th), 656 Embry Riddle (16th of 18).
