US colleges in Ireland for Waterville Invitational

Ireland's spectacular Waterville Golf Links is playing host this weekend to the Jerry Murray Notre Dame Invitational Tournament, which will feature three US college teams in addition to three of the top Irish Universities
The event is taking place over three days, between Thursday 22nd and Saturday 24th October, with teams of five players representing their colleges in a team stroke play format that counts the best four cards each day. There is also an individual tournament
Current Irish Colleges Match Play champions University College Dublin will be joined by recently-crowned AIG Senior Cup winners Maynooth University and a very strong side from Ulster University in making up the Irish challenge at the event.
Foremost among Maynooth University’s numbers is current Irish international Robin Dawson, while UCD, while shorn of their top player Alex Gleeson due to his participation for the GUI in the Carey Cup Matches in New York, are led by Naas’ Jonathan Yates following a fine season.
Ulster University’s team includes last season’s Irish Intervarsity Series winner Neil McKinstry, in addition to Irish Youths runner-up Ross Dutton.
Notre Dame, Texas A and M and UNC Wilmington are the three visiting American colleges for the tournament
