Former Loretto pupil Julie Yang in third place
Five UK players fighting to beat Round 4 cut
Five of the eight GB and Ireland players in action at the LPGA Qualfying School Final Tournament at Daytona Beach, Florida are not going to beat the 72-hole cut unless they pull up their socks over Friday's fourth round in this 90-hole marathon.
Only the leading 70 and ties after 72 holes will play the final round at the end of which only the leading 20 will gain full playing rights on the 2016 LPGA Tour.
Those finishing 21 to 45 will gain "conditional status" which means they will gain entry to some of the tournaments on next year's schedule.
Former Loretto School pupil and past Scottish schoolgirls champion Julie Yang, originally from South Korea, but a world traveller for many years - she is now 20 - is lying third on nine-under 207 with scores of 66, 69 and 72.
She is three behind leader Simin Feng (China) who has a two-shot lead over second-placed American Cydney Clanton/
England's Holly Clyburn, the leading British player after two rounds, dropped down to a joint 39th place alongside Kylie Walker and Becky Morgan from Wales on one-under 215.
