Kelsey, Gemma beat Q School cut but three Scots miss out in Morocco

Kelsey Macdonald and Gemma Dryburgh easily survived the penultimate-round cut to the leading 60 and ties but the dreams of Ellon's Michele Thomson (Meldrum House), Alyson McKechin from Paisley and Jane Turner (West Linton) of playing on the Ladies European Tour next season are over for another year.

Macdonald, from Nairn, has broken par in each of her four rounds so far at Marrakech in Morocco and is lying sixth after a 71 for 277, 11 shots behind the German leader, Karolin Lampert (68 for 266).

St Rule Trophy winner at St Andrews earlier this year, young amateur Aditi Ashok (India) is lying second, one off the pace.

Aberdeen-born Dryburgh is tied for ninth place after a 72 for 280.

Barring disastrous final rounds, Macdonald and Dryburgh look certain to make the leading 30 who will earn full playing rights on the 2016 LET circuit.

Thomson missed the cut by two strokes with a 71 for 292. Her opening round of 77 was just too high to make up the lost ground.

McKechin, on the limit mark overnight, crashed out of contention with a 76 for 294, four shots too many.

Turner played below her potential in Morocco and had a final 76 for 11-over-par 299.
