Kylie Walker's sub-par 70 start to LPGA
Q School Final Tournament
Kylie Walker has made a solid start to her bid to win a place on the 2016 LPGA Tour. The Glasgow player shot a two-under-par 70 in the first round of the Final Qualifying Tournament at Daytona Beach, Florida to finish the opening day of the five-round tournament in joint 18th place in a field of 157.
Kylie, pictured, birdied the fourth, fifth and 16th with only one bogey, at the 11th, in halves of 34 and 36.
Sally Watson matched the par of 72 despite a double bogey 7 at the long ninth. She birdied the second, eighth, 10th, 14th and 15th. She had bogeys at the 11th, 12th and 17th.
Gemma Dryburgh, the third Scot in the field, shot a 73 with birdies at the fourth and 17th but bogeys at the first, ninth and 13th.
China's Simin Feng and Christine Song (USA) set the pace with seven-under 65s.
Only the leading 20 players at the end of 90 holes will earn full playing rights on the 2016 LPGA Tour. Those finishing 21st to 45th will gain conditional status.
