Former Loretto School pupil Julie Yang joint leader

KYLIE'S LATE BIRDIES KEEP HER AS
TOP SCOT AT LPGA Q SCHOOL

Kylie Walker dropped out of the top 20 after a second-round 74 for a level par. 36-hole tally of 144 at the LPGA Tour School Final Tournament at Daytona Beach, Florida.
But the Glasgow player was heading for a much worse score until she birdied the 10th, 14th and 16th to finish the day in a share of 43rd place.
Gemma Dryburgh, birdieing the seventh and 14th, also had a 74 for 147 and joint 79th place.
Sally Watson dropped to a share of 95th place with a 76 for 148. Her only birdie came at the third.
Only the top 20 at the end of the 90-hole (five rounds) tournament will gain full playing rights on the 2015 LPGA Tour. There will be a cut to the leading 70 and ties after four rounds.
Holly Clyburn from Cleethorpe, Lincolnshire is the best placed of the eigh British and Irish players in the field of 156. She is joint 18th on 142 after a bogey-free, two-birdie second-round 70.
Former Loretto School pupil Julie Yang, originally from South Korea, is joint leader with China's Simin Feng on nine-underpar 135.
Julie, pictured below, won the Scottish schoolgirls titles and other  open events during her stay in Scotland after relocating at the age of 14 from Arizona to Europe and becoming a Loretto pupil.

Among her wins while based in Scotland were the Scottish schoolgirls title, the Welsh women's open strokeplay, the Danish international women's open and the English women's open stroke play. She was the youngest winner in history in all of those events.
Julie moved back to the States in 2011, and  won win 2011 Women's Trans National Amateur Championship.
She then enrolled at an American college before turning professional.
Julie was born in July 1995, which makes her only 20.
