Despite being just a junior in high school, Kaitlyn Papp has had her big moments in golf, like being crowned champion at the AJGA Girls Championship and playing for the United States in the Junior Solheim Cup match against Europe.
The Lake Travis, Texas resident fired a 4-under 68 to take the second-round lead in the prestigious Women’s South Atlantic Amateur (The Sally), with a two-day total of 6-under 138, four strokes ahead of first-day leader Ashley Holder.
Holder struggled a bit today as temperatures dipped below normal, finishing with a 3-over 75. The University of Central Florida junior posted a 5-under 67 yesterday and now sits 2-under at 142.
One shot behind is Florida Gator Taylor Tomlinson, who who went into the final round in third position after going 71-72 -- 143.
