Fiona Liddell takes over as leading Scot in
Portugal after Gabrielle Macdonald's 79

Craigielaw's former Scottish champion Gabrielle Macdonald (Craigielaw) dropped out of the top 10 with a second round of seven-over-par 79 for a halfway tally of 150 and joint 40th position in the Portuguese women's amateur championship at Montado Golf Resort near Setubal on the Costa Azul.
Gabrielle had no birdies in halves of 39-40. A double bogey 6 at the 16th was the lowlight of her round.
Past Scottish U18 girls title-holder Fiona Liddell, daughter of a Scottish club pro in Germany, took over the mantle of leading Scot with a 74 for 147 and joint 20th place.
Fiona, pictured, was a GB and I Junior Vagliano Trophy team player at Chantilly in 2013. Germany-born, based and educated - her mother is a German, Fiona is bound for Baylor University, Texas in the autumn.
Gemma Batty (Powfoot) is tied 47th on 151 after a 73 while Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) and Chloe Goadby (St Regulus) are tied 64th on 154. Hannah had a 76 and Chloe a 78 in the second round.
Jennifer Saxton (Kinross) is 83rd in a field of 88 after an 80 for 159.
Spain's Maria Parra, No 3 in the women's world amateur rankings, has opened up a six-stroke lead with scores of 66-68 for 10-under-par 134.
Leading English player is Gemma Clews (Delamere Forest), pictured left by courtesy of Leaderboard Photography, who had a 76 for 145 and a share of 10th place. Gemma chasing a place in the GB and I team for the Curtis Cup match against the Americans at Dunlaoghaire GC, near Dublin, in June.
Helen Holm Scottish women's stroke-play champion Olivia Mehaffey made up some ground with a 71 for 146 and a share of 13th place.
