Jones-Doherty top seed beaten in quarter-finals

Top seed Carly Ray Goldstein lost in the quarter-finals of the Jones-Doherty match-play championship - one of the events on the Orange Blossom ladies' amateur tour in Florida - at Coral Ridge Country Club, Fort Lauderdale.
The leading qualifier for the match-play stages lost by 5 and 3 to the No 9 qualifier, fellow American Julie Matazat.
The No 3 seed, Kendall Griffin, is in the semi-finals after a two-hole win over the No 11 qualifier, Selina Costabile.
