Only three Scots survive Portugal cut to
leading 40 and ties

Three Scots - Fiona Liddell, Gemma Batty and Gabrielle Macdonald - survived the cut to the leading 40 and ties and will play the final round of the 86th Portuguese women's open amateur championship at the Montado Golf Resort, near Setubal on the Costa Azul.
Liddell, daughter of a Scots-born club professional in Germany and a past Scottish U18 girls champion, shot a 73 for a 54-hole tally of four-over 220 and tied 16th place.
Batty, who plays out of Powfoot GC, had one of the best scores of the third day, a two-under 70 for 221 and a share of 23rd place.
Former Scottish champion Gabrielle Macdonald (Craigielaw) scraped through on the limit mark of 224 with a 74.
Scots who did not make it were Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey), with a 76 for 230, Chloe Goadby (St Regulus), 79 for 233, and Jennifer Saxton (Kinross) 79 for 238.
Maria Parra (Spain), the European champion and world No 3 female amateur, has led from the start and is five shots clear of the field with three sub-70 rounds for 13-under 203.
The leading British Isles players are Olivia Mehaffey (Ireland) and Sammy Fuller (England), tied 10th on 219. Mehaffey had a third-round 73, Fuller a 72.
The non-qualifiers included Curtis Cup team contender Inci Mehmet (Royal Mid Surrey) who missed out by seven shots with a 75 for 231.
