Scot Karis now T11 after bad-weather day at

Lake Macquarie

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
It must have been an awful weather day for the third round of the Lake Macquarie women's amateur championship at Belmont Golf Club, New South Wales.

South Koreans are occupying the leading five positions but even leader Min-Ji Park, recent winner of the Australian women's amateur title, could shoot no better than 74 for 213 and second-placed Hye-Jin Choi had a 76 for 214.
Scot Karis Davidson, pictured, improved to T11 even though she had a 75 for 224.
The teenager, originally from Innerleith in the River Tweed valley, was in the mix after a splendid outward half of 34 with birdies at the fourth, seventh and ninth.
Then she ran into the stormy weather which is reflected in her finish. Karis had a double bogey 5 at the short 14th and then bogeyed the 15th, 16th and 18th to take 41 blows for the inward half.
Said her mother Faye: "A massive storm hit the course just as Karis was at the 14th hole. Otherwise, she would have had a fantastic score!"
Australian No 1 ranked player Hannah Green had a 79 and is on the same 224 mark as Davidson
