Scot Karis T16 in Lake Macquarie tournament
Innerleithen-born Karis Davidson edged up to a share of 16th place with a one-over-par second round of 73 - three strokes better than her first-day effort - in the Lake Macquarie women's amateur tournament at Belmont Golf Club, New South Wales today.
The teenage Scot, who has lived in Queensland with her parents since they emigrated to Australia eight years ago, had five birdies - at the short fifth, seventh, ninth, long 10th and long 16th.
But she was brought down by a double bogey 6 at the par-4 13th.
Karis also bogeyed the second, eighth and 16th in halves of 36 and 37.
Australian No 1 Hannah Green also had a second-round 73
South Koreans occupy first and second positions after 36 holes.
Hye-Jin Choi leads on six-under 138 with a pair of 69s.
A shot behind is compatriot Min-Ji Park with scores of 68 and 71.
