Irish Ladies Golf Union and RandA to invest
30,000 euros in development of club girls' golf
IRISH LADIES GOLF UNION NEWS RELEASE
The
Irish Ladies Golf Union is delighted to announce that coaching grants will be awarded to
up to 100 clubs through the 2016 ILGU Club Coaching Grant Programme.
This initiative
sees the ILGU, supported by the RandA, invest almost €30,000 in the
development of girls' golf within clubs. The purpose of these grants is
to subsidise a girls’ only coaching programme within clubs.
The ILGU,
through eachdistrict junior development committee,
will provide advice and support to clubs through the process of
planning and delivering coaching, in addition to suggesting activities
and events which clubs can offer to further encourage girls’
participation in a coaching programme at their club.
Grants,
which will range from €200/£165 - €350/£275 per club, based on the
number of girls participating in the clubs’ coaching programme, will
also be subject
to a number of contributing factors such as number of junior female
members registered, number of active girls, compliance with the ILGU
Junior Policy, previous record of delivering club coaching under terms
of the grant and history of communication with ILGU
Junior Development Committee (JDC) members.
