Top 10 finish in Texas by Aimee Ponte from
Guernsey with Brogan Townend 12th

Aimee Ponte from Guernsey in the Channel Islands, a third-year student at the University of Texas-San Antonio, achieved a top 10 finish in the Texas State Spring Invite college tournament over three rounds at Landa Park Golf Club, New Braunfels, Texas.
Over a par 71 course of 5,885yd, Aimee, pictured, had rounds of 77, 69 and 74 for a total of seven-over 220 and a tied ninth placing in a field of 78 players.
Team-matces Brogan Townend, a senior from Blackburn, and sophomore Becky McGeehan, whose father works in Germany, finished 12th and T29 respectively.
Townend scored 75, 70 and 77 for 222 and McGeehan 78, 71 and 78 for 227.
Another Texas-San Antonio player, Julie Houston, won the individual title with rounds of 69, 69 and 76 for 214, a shot ahead of runner-up Kassidy Teare (Long Beach) (78-68-69).
Despite having three players in the top 12, Texas-San Antonio (887) had to settle for fourth place behind Sam Houston State (878) and joint second placed Long Beach and Middle Tennessee State (both 883) in a field of 15 teams.
