Annan gains top 10 finish in Texas

Duncan McNeill from Annan, a 6ft 4in freshman student at McNeese State University, Lake Charles, Louisiana, gained a top-10 finish in the Lone Star Invitational college tournament over 54 holes at Briggs Ranch, San Antonio, Texas.
Duncan shot 74, 78 and 69 for a total of four-over-par 220 - nine shots behind the winner by five, Teek Kelly (Ohio State) (68-71-72 for five-under 211).
McNeill finished tied ninth in a field of 100 players.
Southeastern Louisiana's pair of Scots, Lawrence Allan from Alva, and Eamon Bradley from Mount Ellen - both coming up to the end of their fourth and final year at the university - finished T18 and T44 respectively.
Allan shot three stead rounds of 74, 75 and 75 for a total of 224 over a longish par-4 course of 7247yd.
Bradley had scorees of 74, 78 and 78 for 230.
New Mexico (877) won the team title ahead of Rice 9883) and North Texas (890). McNeese State (899) finished seventh of 17 and Southeastern Louisiana (905) 10th.
