Mairead Martin in last eight but Annabel
Wilson KO'd in French U20s' Cartier Trophy
Ireland's Mairead Martin, a GB and I Junior Vagliano Trophy team player against the Continent of Europe at Malone GC, Belfast last year, is through to the quarter-finals of the French U20s match-play competition for the Cartier Trophy at Paris St Cloud.
Seventh of the 16 qualifiers, Mairead, pictured, beat the No 10, Esther Hensleit (Germany) at the 19th.
She now plays Paula Neira Garcia (Spain) who knocked out the No 2 qualifier Ophelia Rague (France) by 5 and 4.
The other Irish qualifier, Annabel Wilson, who was seeded No 3, lost by 3 and 2 to the 14th qualifier, Line Toft-Hansen by 3 and 2.
