SPANISH GIRL WINS LAST FOUR HOLES
FOR HOME TITLE
Spain's
Marta Perez, the eighth seed, won the Spanish women's amateur golf
championship with a remarkable one-hole win over Chloe Salort (France)
in the 18-hole final at Escorpion Golf Club, Valencia today (Sunday).
Perez
was four down after five holes and still three down after 14. She then
won the last four holes for victory over the 30th of the 32 match-play
qualifiers.
Perez
beat England's Lianna Bailey at the 20th in the quarter-finals and
Salort beat another English player, Sophie Lamb, at the 19th, also in the
round of the last eight.
