Alison McBride pips Wendy Nicholson for top
seed berth in Midlothian championship
Alison McBride (Harburn) and Wendy Nicholson (Baberton), after a wintry day at Murrayfield Golf Club, headed the qualifiers for the match-play stages of the Midlothian women's county championship.
They both had 36-hole aggregates of 158 - Alison with a pair of 79s and Wendy with a 78 followed by an 80.
McBride's better second round earned her top sedding with Nicholson No 2, seeded to meet McBride in the final.
Broomieknowe clubmates Hannah Scott, champion in 2013 and 2015, and Kate McIntosh, last year's title winner, qualified in third and fourth places respectively.
