GREENSBORO, North Carolina - With 18 holes remaining at the ACC Championship, the Duke women’s golf team sits in third place and 17 shots off the team lead as Virginia continues to lead action at the 6,089-yard, par 72 Sedgefield Country Club
Virginia has totalled rounds of 283 and 290 for a three-under-par, 573, while Wake Forest turned in a team-best three-under, 285, Saturday to move into second with a 579. Duke collected a 294 on Friday and followed that with a 296 in round two for a 14-over, 590.

Duke opened the day on the comeback trail and made the turn at two-under, but the Blue Devils couldn’t maintain the under par round on the back nine.
Duke freshman Virginia Elena Carta turned in Duke’s best round of the day, a 73, which was propelled by birdies on No. 1 and No. 5 to open the morning. Carta, who is from Udine, Italy, made the turn at two-under, 33. She started the back nine with bogeys on No. 10, No. 12 and No. 13 to fall back to one-over, but closed with five straight pars to finish with a 73.

Coughlin leads the pack with a seven-under, 137. Jennifer Kupcho of
Wake Forest (140), Lauren Diaz-Yi of Virginia (141) and Sierra Sims of

golfers in the field.
Maguire, who hails from Cavan, Ireland, had another slow start to her day with four bogeys over her first six holes and made the turn with a four-over, 39.

The reigning National Player
of the Year and World ranked No 1 female amateur, Leona made two strokes up with back-to-back birdies on No. 10 and
No. 11, but suffered a bogey on No. 12.
Maguire dropped to five-over
for the day, after suffering a double-bogey on No. 15. She closed
strong for the second straight day with two straight birdies on No. 17
and No. 18 to finish with a 75. Maguire hit 13 greens, 11 fairways and
had 32 putts.
