Young Annabel Wilson wins scratch cup at Royal County Down

The third instalment of Ireland's Scratch Cup Circuit took place in Royal County Down on Sunday when Annabel Wilson(Lurgan) shot +3 in her opening round to card an impressive 79, given the weather conditions. 

The 36 hole competition was reduced to 18 just after lunch due to torrential downpours, resulting in Annabel, a GB and I Junior Vagliano Trophy team member, adding another piece of silverware to her collection. 
Wilson, pictured, was only 14 years of age when she won the Irish closed U18 girls championship for the second year in a row in 2015.

International team-mate Olivia Mehaffey,recovering from a recent illness and playing over her home links, was close on her heels, carding an 81 with Maria Dunne and Niamh McSherry not far behind.
