Gillian
Paton (Royal Montrose), the defending champion, earned the top seeding
for the match-play stages of the Angus women's county golf championship
with a score of 73, one less than the CSS, in the qualifying round at
Brechin Golf Club today (Friday).
Gillian, pictured, won the Chalmers Trophy for heading a field of 36 competitors
Jackie
Brown (Monifieth) was the second best qualifier with a 74. She won the
Fenton Quaich with the best net of 70 off a handicap of 4.
Third
seed with a 76 is Jacqueline Cameron (Blairgowrie) who, as Jacqueline
Sneddon, was beaten in last year's final by Paton. She became Mrs
Cameron in March.
