Michele and Jane leading Scots in Sweden
Michele Thomson and Jane Turner are the leading Scots in joint seventh and 12th positions respectively after the first round of the LETAS tournament, the Halmstad Ladies Open in Sweden.
Thomson (Meldrum House) birdied the second, 15th and 17th on her way to a two-under-par 70, one better than Turner from the Lothians. Jane birdied the 10th, 12th and 15th for a share of 12th place.
Amateurs Gabrielle MacDonald (Craigielaw) and Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) had scores of 78 and 80 respectively to be outside the leading 100 and unlikely to make the cut.
Sweden's Johanna Bjork leads with a four-under 68, a shot ahead of five players on the 69 mark.
