Scot Davidson wins twice for Queensland
in Australian inter-state team championship
Innerleithen-born Karis Davidson, a member of the Queensland team,won twice on the opening day of the Australian inter-state amateur women's golf team championships at Royal Queensland Golf Club.
Queensland were the only one of the six competing teams to win both their matches on Day 1.
They beat New South Wales 4.5-0.5 and, later, Queensland beat South Australia 2-1.
Davidson beat the New South Wales No 1, Liz Elmassian, by two holes and following that with a 4 and 3 victory in the afternoon against South Australia's Ella Adams.
Defending champions Victoria were beaten 3-2 by Western Australia in their first match.

FIRST ROUND
Western Australia 3, Victoria 2.
Queensland 4.5, New South Wales 0.5
Tasmania 2.5, Australia 2.5.
SECOND ROUND
Queensland 4, South Australia 1
New South Wales 3.5, Western Australia 1.5
