Annabel third, Mairead sixth at Fairhaven girls

Annabel
Wilson (Lurgan), pictured left, opened with an impressive 74 (-1) at the Fairhaven
Trophy in Lancashire at the weekend to hold the joint lead with England’s Hollie Muse.
Wilson added a
78 in her second round to safely make
the cut falling at the top six best placed girls.
One of Killarney’s international golfers and other Irish female contender, Mairead Martin,
pictured below, added a 76 to her opening 79 to make the cut alongside Wilson.
Wilson
closed with rounds of 83 and 75 to secure
third place in the girls tournament, while Martin carded rounds of 81 and 84 to finish sixth.
England’s Lily Humphreys carded all four rounds in the 70s (77, 75,
73, 74) to win the tournament by eight shots from Amelia Williamson.
There was no joy for the men at Fairhaven, with all Irish boys just falling outside the cut line.
