Bad weather forces cancellation at Baberton
Stroke-play round will now decide Scottish girls championship
Day two of the Scottish Girls’ Amateur Championship has been cancelled due to the weather at Baberton GC. It's the same story over at Lanark Golf Club and the Scottish boys' stroke play championship
Play was delayed for two hours this morning at the Edinburgh venue, before further rain and lightning flooded the course. Of the match-play ties, the furthest game reached the fifth hole.
The 16 competitors returning the lowest scores over the 36 holes qualified for the match play stage, while the 16 competitors with the next best nett qualifying scores qualified to compete in a separate match play competition.
However, Thursday's final day will now see 18 holes of stroke-play to contest both titles.
