DURHAM, North Carolina —Golfweek has released its 2015-16 All-America teams with Duke University stand-outs
Virginia Elena Carta and Leona Maguire earning first team accolades.
Maguire
received first team accolades for the second straight season, after
totalling a 72.29 stroke average to go along with two top five, six top
10 and eight top 20 finishes on the season.
Leona registered her fourth collegiate victory at the Tar Heel Invitational with rounds of 69, 72 and 71 for a 213. Maguire led the Blue Devils with 17 rounds of even or under par and added three rounds in the 60s on the year.
Maguire, a member of the Slieve Russell Club, Ireland, concluded the season ranked fourth in the Golfweek individual ledger.

Carta
is coming off claiming the NCAA Individual Championship in record
fashion with a 16-under-par, 272, on her way to winning by a NCAA-record
eight strokes. Her 16-under-par and 72-hole total of 272 were both
NCAA records as well.
On the year, Carta totalled a 72.41 stroke average, which is the fifth-best in school history by a freshman. A product of Udine, Italy, Carta registered 13 rounds of even or under par to rank tied seventh on the Duke freshman record charts. She finished the season ranked ninth in the Golfweek listing.
Bronte Law, from Bramhall, Cheshire, a third-year student at UCLA and a Curtis Cup hero for GB and I in their victory over the USA at Dun Laoghaire, was awarded "First Team" status.
Curtis Cup team-mate Charlotte Thomas (Washington), ex-Singapore and Surrey, is in the "Second Team."
